For papers/books in mentioned in MathSciNet there is a way to get a BibTex version of the citation. I wanted to cite a paper and it is not in MathSciNet. It is a published paper in International Mathematics Research Notices in the year 2018. If you have BBT enabled, you are importing using the BibLaTex importer. I've published a new version that doesn't overwrite the existing bibtex exporter, but it won't make a difference, as the plugin adds a translator that responds to bibtex-formatted imports with higher precedence than the standard bibtex importer. Bibliography style is controlled completely through LaTeX instead of being determined partly by a BibTeX style file and partly through LaTeX.

When you run BibTeX on a .bib file then it produces a .bbl file which more-or-less contains your bibliography in \bibitem format. So I recommend exporting everything BibTex style from MathSciNet, creating a .bib file, running BibTeX, and then making any remaining changes to the resulting .bbl file (which you can then just copy and paste into your .tex file).
